What I love about this movie is that it is a genuine classic. Meaning, that it’s timeless.
Everytime you watch it you can get something new from it.
Today, it dawns on me, three White Men. One from the Upper Class (Hooper); one from the Middle Class (Brody); and one from the Working Class (Quint). Who wind up spending their Fourth of July Holiday week tracking down and dealing with a terrible problem that has beset their community and loved ones.
Which, by the way, they could have taken care of weeks earlier, had they not been blocked by the local bureaucracy (white people).
The terrible, horrific problem that they need to deal with… well, it’s a Great White.
Just saying.

Usually I just post my artwork, today however in observance of #wearorange @everytown and to the memory of my father-in-law, I’ve chosen to make this post.
My wife’s father was murdered 7 years ago. Not by some random mugger or burglar, he was murdered by his own brother. Yes, you read that correctly. His. Own. Brother.
He was murdered by a man that shouldn’t have been licenced to own a firearm, let alone be able to sell them from his home office.
Rest assured, our legal system worked. He was found guilty of cold-blooded homicide and sentenced to prison.
Too little, too late. In my opinion.

As some of you may know (or not) a few decades ago there were a group of misfit artists and writers that got together to form Arrow Comics. Riding the rising tide of black and white independents we all started working on various ideas for comics in genres we felt that the mainstream market was missing out on.
I started a noirish crime book called Nightstreets. Well, author @alexbledsoewriter found me and it turns out that he was a fan of the book way back when.

Recent sketch card commission on my AE from the Workshop Babes series (5finity Productions). This was commissioned by the owner of the contemporary card of a carpenter, so he requested the same pose. Since the AEs were to be set in the future I decided to have her working on a robot.

Last piece I created in 2017. Poster for a movie that never happened. The 1976 Vampirella motion picture. Hammer Studios had the rights, there was a script and Barbara Leigh was cast as Vampirella with Peter Cushing as her mentor Pendragon. Gouache on board with copy added in Photoshop.
